Our OpenmindProjects Team consists of local staff, trainees and overseas volunteers in Thailand, Laos, Nepal and Cambodia. Some permanent, some helping part time.

Sven Mauleon, Sweden, Thailand Our Swedish founder of OpenmindProjects with long international management and consulting experience, Western and Eastern Europe, Russia and S E Asia. Lecturer on international and cross culture management in Europe and Thailand including the Thammasath University in Bangkok. Author of numerous articles on development, cross culture and eco tourism/environmental issues. He focuses on developing OpenmindProjects, its aid and volunteer services. Thaweesil Lunchaiyapah, TT, Thailand Our Thai cofounder of OpenmindProjects and our Thailand and ICT Manager. Self taught computer wizard from a poor rice farmer village. A true role model to young and poor Thai students. Invited as finalist to Sweden, the Stockholm Challenge and ICT for Development, 2008. His focus is on ICT for development (ICT 4 D), the field projects we support and volunteer support.

Thitichaya Boonsom, Mui, Thailand South Thailand Manager, volunteer and placement support. Our successful media profile from a poor family in Satun, the deep south of Thailand. She is based in Krabi and has academic degrees in education and social development. Journalist at the Unity Krabi Radio together with Joe, her husband, who also helps volunteers as do some young students, our trainees, who stay with her to be able to study.

Isabelle Jauffret (Isa), France Our experienced travel agent and guide from France. She has worked in Western Africa (Mali), and volunteered with us. Isa is our volunteer coordinator and develops our responsible and community based ecotourism services and eco tour packages in Thailand and Laos.

AnnChalee, Ann, Thailand from Bangkok. Our main volunteer trainer is Aun. During the Cross Culture training you will learn to speak some Thai/Lao with her, how to greet people, introduce yourself, and give directions in the classroom. You will learn important do’s and don’ts, the correct way to “wai”, how to sit, walk, dress, and more. You will learn Thai language and culture by practicing it not only in the classroom.

Kwan, Thailand from Nongkhai, and fresh university graduate from Bangkok helps volunteers in many ways including teaching Thai and Lao. Kaisri Lunchaiyapah, Kai, Thailand Kai is our admin girl, the OMP House boss and Toto’s sister. During the 3 day training, you will learn to eat and live as people do with her. She will assist you and teach you to cook Thai food.

Nattaphon Boonyuad, one of our trainees, a poor 17 year old student. His parents cannot afford to support his studies so we support him. He stays with us in NongKhai and in return he makes great friends with volunteers and helps them when he has time. He has already made progress to be one of the top students in his class. |

Pai and Tom, our two trainees from Laos. They stay with us for about a year to learn to use computers and Internet, to improve their English and learn about eco tourism. Pai comes from the Ban Hat Kai village and Tom from the Ban Na village where many of our volunteers have gone to develop community based eco tourism. They teach Lao to volunteers and sometimes accompany volunteers to their Lao villages. |

Mohan Thapa, Nepal Mohan joined OpenmindProjects in 2009 and comes from Western Nepal but moved to Kathmandu, due to the previous violence there. He is the founder of the HUC orphanage and has been a team leader in the District Development Office for Kathmandu. Children at the orphanage attend the nearby Creation School where volunteers also work.

Ranjan Bandhan, Nepal 23 years old and lives in Gawcei, South Nepal, and is OpenmindProjects local coordinator there. He also works in tourism and is a very keen nature guide. His family are farmers very close to the famous Chitwan National Park.

Jim Brown , America from North Carolina. Advisor to OMP. Professor in the U.S.A., volunteer, taught at a temple school. He edited our Pre Departure Handbook and comes back every year. |

Sann Lao from California, U.S.A. currently an undergrad student, Pre-Health Major (Pre-Pharm.), joined the OpenmindProjects during the summer of 2009, at a local health center. He encourages any health related individuals to volunteer and is a contact person for OMP in California. He will love to answer any question(s) you may have! |
